Omega unveils its special edition dedicated to the next Olympic Winter Games.

If the current pandemic permits, the 2022 Olympic Winter Games athletes will be in Beijing. The official Olympic timekeeper remains faithful to his tradition and presents his new Seamaster Diver 300M Beijing 2022 Special Edition one year before the event.

These winter games should be Omega’s thirtieth participation in the Olympic Games, since its first collaboration in 1932. Enough to make a potential collector of this 42 mm diameter steel piece, adorned with a unique grade titanium bezel. 5, with a 60-minute raised diving scale.

Its blue ceramic sunray dial is decorated with laser-engraved waves as well as rhodium-plated indexes and hands coated with Super-LumiNova. Most interestingly, it has five special minute markers at 2 a.m., 4 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 12 p.m. each reflect one of the five colors of the Olympic rings.

Now the question is, will Master Chronometer experience the same fate as the Omega Speedmaster JO in Tokyo?

This piece was engraved with the Tokyo 2020 logo, the five Speedmaster Professional Moonwatches, inspired by the five colors of the Olympic rings, in a limited edition of 2020 copies per model. Plus, a box contained the five, limited to 55 boxes, was offered last year at around € 5,240 (steel) or around € 6,490 (steel and gold). The postponement of the Tokyo Olympic Games to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic has made them doubly collector’s timepieces. Now let see if this 2022 edition remains in its fate and catches up with its predecessor.
