Is US Using COVID-19 to Cover the Escalation of War with Iran?

The CoronaVirus-19 has taken over the world and despite the terrific uproar of the Pandemic, the US may raise war against its long-standing middle-eastern foe, Iran. Due to the on-going tragic pandemic, it might not be heard or maybe many other international leaders won’t pay attention.

While the world is completely locked down, on the 11^th of March, Coalition Force’s airbase Camp Taji Airbase was hit by countless rockets leaving two Americans and one British dead along with 14 more wounded. Right after the day, the coalition force carried out an airstrike on Kata’ib Hezbollah, an Iraqi militia group. Not to forget, Kata’ib Hezbollah is currently backed by Iranian force. Following the attack, Kata’ib Hezbollah strikes back on 14^th of March which costs three more American lives. (Source: The Intercept)

This event leads the world to a possibility of the US-Iran war and Iraqi soil to be the battleground. US-Iran tension is not growing among the common people, not even among the international leaders, because of the COVID-19. The Trump administration has already done something terrifying for Iran when Qasem Soleimani was killed.

On March 27, New York Times published a story headlined “Pentagon Order to Plan for escalation in Iraq Meets Warning from Top Commanders”. The subtitle of the article also informed us that Pentagon is planning to destroy the Iranian-backed militia group. But the top generals in based in Iraq, it will be very risky for the US to destroy the entire militia group while Iran is supporting them.

War in the middle of a Global pandemic!! Even if the pandemic ends, the entire world will need a significant amount of time to recover. But the psycho Trump administration is about to wage a war soon. Well if we see from the US perspective, this is a good time to avoid media because the entire media is covering the Wuhan Virus all over the world. Even if someone or a group of journalists cover the story, it will be lost among the COVID-19 media coverage. From that point of view, it is a very strategic battle plan for the US.

The world is already in an economic crisis and it can be clearly understood that if the US-Iran war escalates, this is going to be another humanitarian disaster. It is also inevitable that the war between the US and Iran won’t end shortly and it will bring more tragic fate toward the world. Iran is unlike Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria because this Islamic Republic has a strong influence in the region. Even if the battleground remains Iraq, the US has to take serious measures.

This Nobel CoronaVirus will eventually end and the global leaders will pay attention to the conflict between the US and Iran until then a lot of things will occur. Innocent people will die, the oil price will be increased, and the economic effect of the already hit pandemic will make things worse for the entire world.

Though the present US President Trump is known to be a maniac and is not keen on foreign policy. But the military generals have been warning the present government yet the administration is recklessly making policy. In public, Trump administration is planning to financial sanction but they are secretly putting pressure on the US military to escalate the war against Iran.
