Israel Blocks 11 American Doctors From Leaving Gaza Humanitarian Crisis

Israel has destroyed most of Gaza and killed over 50,000 innocent people 44% of whom are children. Besides the IDF has killed a significant number of health workers, journalists, and aid workers, while the U.S. funded the humanitarian catastrophe. But now Israel is blocking American doctors and nurses who have been working in Gaza since January 9 scheduled to leave on Wednesday.

As part of the humanitarian organization Rahma, a team of 11 American health workers entered Gaza on the 9th of January this year with Israeli authorization. On 22 January, they were supposed to leave Gaza after their work. But while they tried to exit Gaza on their scheduled date, they were denied exit by the Israeli authority, and now have been stranded on the valley of death and destruction.

The Israeli authority closed the checkpoint on their face citing an unspecified “incident” that no one knows about. The IDF told the stranded healthcare workers, they cannot move to the south of Gaza to exit the enclave citing “operational considerations. Despite the fact that these healthcare professionals entered Gaza to provide critical care to U.S. citizens and others. However, Israel’s hostile behavior raised serious concerns among these blocked professionals.

Later the Israeli authority informed them they could leave as soon as Sunday but they had yet to be released, which had created panic among the affected. On the other hand, the fascist Israeli IDF has also blocked another team of Rehma from entering Gaza to provide critical care to the extremely vulnerable population.

Among the 11 doctors and nurses, Dr. Adam Hamawy, a US Army combat surgeon and a member of the blocked convoy, criticized the ongoing restrictions. He also emphasized that the denial of humanitarian access can make the dire healthcare needs in Gaza more worse. The convoy, led by the UN and Rahma, includes around 50 medical professionals, including 14 Americans. Their inability to enter further underscores the challenges of delivering essential medical aid to Gaza during this extended conflict.
