Has the success of the iPhone SE model given any ideas to the competition? For the end of the year, Samsung announced the variation of its most famous smartphone, the Galaxy S20 in a special edition called S20 FE. Most interestingly “FE” stands for “Fan Edition”. The new model comes with more fun colours and with a more affordable price point which should appeal to the younger generation.
The all-new Galaxy S20 FE price starts from $699 – against the $999 classic S20 model. Therefore, this model will be more affordable to the younger gadget lovers.
To succeed in lowering the price so drastically, Samsung had to make some compromises. They had to cut back on certain functions. If the finish remains just as qualitative, the Korean giant has opted for a non-curved screen. In a more classic style, it is of high quality.
With a size of 6.5 inches (roughly the same size as the S20 +) AMOLED Full HD + display it stands the competition of S20. Moreover, it comes with a refresh of 120 Hz which holds the top of the other models in the range. Like the all other high-end Samsung flagship models, S20 FE has equipped with Waterproof (IP68) technology. with a 4500 mAh battery, it comes with fast charging and power-sharing. This new model in the Galaxy range is far from being a “low cost” version.
Camera: Back to Basics
On the camera feature, though we find the block of the S20 with triple sensors, Samsung has ignored the 64 MP lens for Galaxy S20 FE. FE rather comes with an ultra-wide-angle 12 MP, a wide-angle 12 MP and an 8 MP telephoto lens (optical zoom x3 and digital zoom x30). At the front, the camera has a resolution of 12 MP. Though it has no 8K video capability it installed a very comfortable 4K video range.
As it is known that Samsung wanted to keep a very popular feature on the S20 FE: the “Single Take” option. This photo capture mode allows you to take ten different shots and four videos with just one press of the shutter button. Then all the photographer has to do is choose from the different creative modes and angles of view the one who will have his preference.
S20 FE Is Flexible: Processor, 4G / 5G, Storage, Colors
Samsung has been being criticized for a long time for not offering Qualcomm’s ultra-powerful processor. But for this model, the Korean giant has used the SnapDragon 865, on its European models. Samsung offers its new smartphone in two versions. The 4G model will come with Samsung’s own Exynos 990 chipset and the 5G version will be available with the popular Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865. On the storage side, the S20 FE is available in 128 and 256 GB, and it also includes microSD port.
When it comes to colour, the Galaxy S20 FE is exotically available in six colours. These premium mobile phones are available in white (Cloud White) and a deep midnight blue (Cloud Navy) which are very common in the market. It will also be available in lavender (Cloud Lavender), very light green (Cloud Mina), red (Cloud Red) and apricot (Cloud Orange). All these models have a matt finish.
